For those who love the weather there’s nothing more exciting than watching a chaser streaming a tornado! These days most chasers have the latest in technology and although they are at the mercy of ‘dead spots’ in terms of available data, more often than not you’ll see all the action right there on your computer screen or mobile device!
There is also a Facebook group known as Severe Weather USA. Highly recommend becoming a member of this group if you’re a severe weather junkie and love seeing the action in the US. These guys pass on weather information from the SPC (Storm Prediction Centre) if there’s a risk of severe weather.
Below are links to websites that host most of the mainstream chasers across the US.
The following chasers have their own websites or choose to stream via Facebook or YouTube.
Daniel Shaw and Mike Olbinski’s streams are also available via the Tornado Channel website.
Some chasers also choose to stream live via Periscope. You can view their past streams via the links below. To be alerted when they are live in the future you need to download the Periscope app and follow them.
There’s nothing worse than watching a stream then realising it’s not LIVE. As mentioned above, there will always be areas where data is not available for the Chasers to stream. Both screen shots below are from the Severe Studios website.
This means the Chaser’s stream isn’t LIVE and is looping. If this happens simply press F5 to refresh the stream. There’s no guarantee the Chaser is still streaming but at least you’ll find out if they are or not.
The image below shows a Chaser streaming LIVE. If you have this you’re in business!
The same applies on Youtube.
Twitter is also very popular with most of the chasers in the US. If you’re on Twitter make sure you follow us as we retweet a lot of the action. Click here to check out our feed.
If you know of a chaser that we haven’t listed, please contact us! Technology is constantly being updated and people are always changing their equipment. If any of the information above is incorrect please contact us!
Enjoy the streams!
